  3.4 Continuous Period of Disability
  A. Same Cause

A continuous period of disability includes all periods of disability due to the same or related cause and separated by less than three months of continuous, active full-time work. If you return to continuous, active full-time work for a period of at least three months, any subsequent disability will be considered a new disability irrespective of its cause or causes.

B. Different Cause

Successive periods of disability due to entirely unrelated causes will be considered one continuous period of disability unless they are separated by complete recovery and return to active full-time work for one or more days.
